Diesel-Driven Fire Pumps
Diesel-driven fire pumps are mandatory standby for high-rise buildings, hospitals, and high-hazard occupancies where loss of power must not cripple fire protection. SMPC supplies UL/FM-listed diesel fire-pump sets meeting NFPA 20 — engine, controller, fuel tank, and pump on a common skid. Available as split-case, end-suction, or vertical turbine pump configurations.
UL/FM Certification
SMPC supplies fire pumps in two certification tiers, matched to what your authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) and insurance carrier require:
- UL/FM-listed — required by NFPA 20 for most commercial, industrial, and high-rise installations. Pump, controller, valves, and trim all carry Underwriters Laboratories and/or Factory Mutual listings, with a factory-witnessed performance curve at the 0%, 100%, and 150% rated-flow points.
- Non-listed — permitted where local codes don't mandate UL/FM (smaller commercial, certain industrial, residential). Same hydraulic family, lower cost, no listing premium.
We confirm with your AHJ which tier applies before quoting and never substitute non-listed components on a listed package.

| End-Suction Diesel Fire Pump | Compact lower-capacity diesel set for mid-rise and commercial. |
